NOTICE TO ALL MOPAR SUPPLIERS---WOOD PACKING MATERIALS (PALLETS, SKIDS, CRATES, ETC) NEED TO CONFORM TO THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS
All wood materials need to be heat treated and properly identified in accordance with industry guidelines. This would include all wood crates, pallets, skids, drums, cases, cornerboards, supports, stabilizers, etc. As long as the NMWP (Non-Manufactured Wood Packing Material) is properly stamped, branded, and/or labeled to indicate who and where the wood was treated, then no other documents are required. This is designed to be a paperless system. This rule applies to both Direct Ship Suppliers as well as suppliers who send their materials through any domestic facility. Domestic facilities can be PDC's, pool points, cross docks, various freight forwarding companies, etc.
Effective February 4, 2002 all unidentified or unmarked wood material (NMWP) will be subject to the standard non-conformance system.
As of May 1, 2002 the addition of all untreated as well as unidentified NMWP will be subject to the non-conformance system. Please refer to the web article found at www.aphis.usda.gov , select Solid wood packaging materials, then European Union for further definition.
